The mahakali ma temple in pavagadh is a significant religious site located in the state of Gujarat, india. It is dedicated to the goddess mahakali, a form of the hindu goddess mahakali, a form of the hindu goddess parvati. This temple is situated on the pavagadh hill,which is part of the champaner -pavagadh archaeological park, a unesco world heritage site.the temple attracts pilgrim and tourists due to its historical and religious significance. 

History of the temple: -

Pavagadh temple has a controversial history as 15th-century king sultan mahmud begda ,who ruled champaner ,where the temple is located ,is said to have destroyed the shikar or spire of the temple.   

During that time a shrine 'sandesh pir dargah ' was said to have been built in the 11th century temple complex.  

A lore goesh that sandeshah peer ,originally a hindu fakir who embraced islam to be part of mahmud begda 's court after he established his sultanate in gujarat and captured pavagadh, played a key role in saving the temple from being destroyed. 

Kalika mata temple location: -

Kalika mata temple also known as pavagadh temple is a hindu temple located on the pavagadh hill in the indian state of Gujarat. The. Temple is dedicated to goddess kali, who is believed to be an incarnation of the hindu goddess parvati 

Shree kalika mata temple is one of the 51 shakti peethas and 3 rd in Gujarat because the right leg of our goddess sati fell in n this place. 

The pavagadh temple in another example of the resilience of the hindu religion and culture, it has withstood the vagaries of nature and the onslaught of time and hostile invaders, and today its flag flutters proudly at the top of its shikhara.

Pavagadh mandir opens from 5.00 am in the morning to pm in the evening. Morning aarti timing is 5 am . evening aarti timing is 6:30pm
